We are looking for a Software Test Engineer fors our customer Leica Geosystems, Machine Control Division.

The Machine Control Division’s headquarter is in Odense, Denmark and has 125 employees. In addition, the division has offices in Sweden, Switzerland, Poland and Australia


You will be located in our divisional headquarter in Odense, Denmark, or in Liljeholmen, Stockholm, Sweden, and domestic and international travel is only required for this role at a moderate level.

The Test Automation Engineer is a key member of the QA Test Team, and will be joining a global team of 11 enthusiastic and skilled colleagues responsible for software quality assurance of the entire fortfolio of Machine Control products.

You will be reporting to the QA Test Manager, and will work closely with both your colleagues in Poland, Schwitzerland, Denmark and Sweden.

The candidate

The ideal candidate has extensive experience as software tester where you have been responsible for test planning, exploratory testing, manual tests and test automation and reporting for web-based UI’s. You take pride in developing scalable and maintainable test suites and scripts for integration with CI systems.

The purpose of this role is building a novel new framework for test automation and augmenting testing both manually and automated.

You will be working with Leica ConX which is a revolutionary cloud product that offers our customers the possibility to monitor work on the construction site in real-time, plan work for the whole project duration, communicate with machines and machine operators and much more.

Your daily work will be divided between work in project teams and ensuring the quality of our recurrent releases. As you will be testing the integration of our broad product portfolio with the ConX product some degree of hardware testing is required. Therefore it is important that you can join the rest of the team at our offices in either Sweden og Denmark on a regular basis.

You have a systematic, structured and result-oriented approach to your work, and you are focused, motivated and work independently within your team, while performing equally well in collaboration across the organisations.

You speak fluent English and other languages eg. Danish or Swedish is a bonus.

Key responsibilities:

Important parts of the job will be:

-       Designing and executing manual and automated test runs to ensure proper test coverage of our ConX cloud platform

-       Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of testware for our Machine Control portfolio while focusing on the cloud aspects

-       Proactively contributing to the development of a modular, scalable test automation suite


-       Commercial education e.g. Software Engineer or Computer Science, experience 3+ years,

-       Experience with test frameworks such as e.g., Playwright, PyTest, or Selenium is a pre-requisite

-       ISTQB certification on Foundation level or higher or significant working experience with software testing

-       Experience with Jira, Confluence and the Microsoft Office suite of products.

-       Fluent English (verbal and written) is a pre-requisite. Additional languages (e.g. Danish or Swedish) would be viewed favorably

Further skills(experience within some of these areas would be an advantage):

-       Experience working with manual and automated testing for web-based UI’s

-       Working experience and ability to write and read code in Python and Javascript languages

-       Experience from working with some of these tools/frameworks: Protractor, JMeter, Postman/SoapUI, Cucumber framework

-       Experience of configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)

-       Experience with Git and test management tools such as Testrail or Testlink an advantage

-       Working with BDD methodology and maybe implementing test automation using the Cucumber framework
