For Leica Geosystems, Machine Control Division, we are looking for a Test Manager (Global)

We are looking for a Test Manager to our customer Leica Geosystems, Machine Control Division.

The Machine Control Division’s headquarter is in Odense, Denmark and has 160 employees. In addition, the division has offices in Sweden, Switzerland and Australia

Organisation

You will be located in our divisional headquarter in Odense, Denmark and domestic and international travel is only required for this role at a moderate level(15-20%).

The Test Manager is responsible for the Global Test Teams, and will ensure Software Quality Assurance activities in Leica Geosystems, Machine Control Division, according to the technical vision and product roadmap for the Machine Control Construction business. The Global Test Team consists of highly skilled motivate and cohesive Test Engineers and Quality Assurance Specialists in both Poland, Schwitzerland, Denmark and Sweden, and as Test Manager you report to the Senior Manager, R&D.

The candidate

The ideal candidate has minimum 5+ years of experience in software testing of integrated systems and solutions (10+ years preferred), has leaderships skills and experience, including the capability of providing direction to team members both locally and remotely, and to provide accurate concise feedback to stakeholders.

Experience within SCRUM/Agile development, and using Jira, Confluence, as well as experience using test management software (TestRail, Xray etc) will be desirable.

You hold strong communication skills (written and verbal) including documentation and reporting, and you are a natural organizer. Since you work crossorganizational, you manage to keep the organization informed, and are a true stakeholder manager. You apply a methodical mindset and work systematically through complex assignments.

 

You have a high level of personal drive and self-motivation, and embrace variation between desk work and getting hands dirty.

You speak fluent English and other languages eg. Danish or Swedish is a bonus.

Key responsibilities:

Main parts of the job will be ensuring the quality assurance activities is undertaken and meet with the targets defined in our strategies. You will be responsible for all of the test team, who are spread on our sites worldwide, and ensure that the team is continuously developed, so that they stay skilled and motivated.

It is essential to us, that our products are released at the right time and in the high quality desired, always meeting the agreed specifications and standards.

As Test Manager you will be the conduit between R&D Management, Product Management and the Global Test team, ensuring effective and ongoing communication flow and the sharing of business, product and technical knowledge, and you ensure a good working environment with internal Leica stakeholders.

Qualitications:

-       Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Software, Programming, Engineering, Business, Technology), or equivalent combination of education and experience 5+ years

-       ISTQB Foundation (ISTQB Advanced Test Manager preferable)

-       Alternatively +3 years of practical software testing and work experience within automated or Machine Controlled heavy construction equipment/machinery

-       Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

-       Fluent English (verbal and written) is a pre-requisite. Additional languages (e.g. Danish, German or Swedish) would be viewed favorably

Experience within these areas would be an advantage:

-       Understanding branching methods of software builds and releases

-       Experience with automated testing
